Women called to unite in prayer

The 94th observation of Womens Day of Prayer will be hosted by the Salvation Army Benoni.

From across the world, women of faith are called upon to unite in prayer on March 1.

The 94th commemoration of the Women’s World Day of Prayer (WWDP) will be hosted by the Salvation Army Benoni from 10:00 at its chapel at 117 Howard Avenue.

First hosted in America in 1887, the inter-denominational mass prayer meeting was officially observed in South Africa in 1956.

Taking into account the global time differences, the gatherings will take place with women in Fiji taking a knee first, with the last being concluded in the US.

Women throughout Benoni are invited to attend this year’s event joining in prayer.

Messages of hope will be delivered by various religious leaders.
