Learners celebrate National Water Week

The gathering aimed at educating the learners about water conservation and sanitation matters.

The Ekurhuleni metro recently commemorated National Water Week observed annually from March 20 to 26 at the OR Tambo Cultural Precinct in Wattville.

Grade Six learners from Ekukhanyeni Primary School were reminded how water is central to life, preservation of the ecosystem and the water cycle.

The key messages to the learners were, among others, preserving water and wetlands, as well as the good use of the sewerage system.

They were encouraged to spread the word to their communities and become activists for change in handling natural resources.
