The talent identification and scholarship linking organisation, World Wide Scholarships (WWS), will host the WWS Scout Camp in Johannesburg on April 13 and 14.
Now in its fifth year, the camp allows young African athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of talent and development scouts from some of the world’s foremost sporting organisations in the fields of American football, soccer, field hockey and basketball.
According to CEO and founder Munya Maraire, the camp is foremost a developmental camp providing athletes with the opportunity to improve and develop their skills with guidance and coaching from leading coaches from around the world.
Maraire added it also provides young athletes with the stage to showcase their talents to top international agencies who will be scouting for talent.
“We are very proud to be hosting the WWS Scout Camp for the fifth year and since the Scout camp first launched in 2020 we have seen over 5000 young athletes take part, assisted 50 with international scholarships and placed 250+ budding soccer players in the WWS Soccer Academy.
At this year’s camp, we will also be scouting for pro opportunities in the field of soccer.”
