HERO: Jesse recovering well after kidney donation procedure
He did the operation in January.
He doesn’t fight crime or wear a cape.
He doesn’t read minds nor has a huge following.
He doesn’t wear a scrub but he’s a lifesaver.
Benoni Northerns Rugby Club flanker Jesse Bekker has donated one of his kidneys to his sister, Toni-Lee, who has been battling Lupus since she was 13.
Jesse couldn’t watch his sister suffer and chose to help her “share the sweetness of life once-again”.
The hard-tackling flanker who underwent the procedure in January, is currently recuperating and is expected back on the field in June.
His teammates did Jesse proud as he watched from the stands when they ran amok and brushed aside Meyerton Knights in the Valke President’s Cup on April 7.
