Pastor faces sexual assault charges
He made his second appearance at Benoni Magistrate’s Court on April 19.
A Daveyton pastor will appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on May 10 on three charges of sexual assault.
He was arrested on February 28, and the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court granted him bail of R1 000.
His second appearance at Benoni Magistrate’s Court was on April 19 after allegations that he victimised former members of his congregation.
According to Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Khweza, the bail conditions state that the pastor must not be in contact with the complainants or witnesses.
In another incident that occurred in 2022, the Pretoria High Court sitting at a Benoni Magistrate’s Court sentenced a pastor (36) to two life terms and 25 years imprisonment for raping minors who were part of his church in Etwatwa.
The court convicted Lucky Magagula of the Ilitshe Church based in Barcelona on 19 counts.
