Pieterse’s hat-trick sinks Kempton Wolves
He scored two tries in the first half and completed his hat-trick with another fiver-pointer in the second stanza.
Threo Pieterse produced a masterclass to inspire the Benoni Northerns Storm second team to a clinical 48-0 victory against Kempton Park Wolves in the Valke Merlin League at Northerns sports grounds on June 8.
The outside centre began this eight-try rout to complete an incredible hat-trick in a one-sided contest they dominated from the first kick to the last.

Flyhalf Bradin Anderson, Tiaan Potgieter, Marinus Raven and Hanno Meyer also crossed the line while Anderson added eight extras with the boot.
The Wolves were left bloodied and everything they tried on the day failed. They never made it beyond the Storm’s 22m line and every time they attempted to advance forward, their hosts’ pack reacted quickly.
The hosts started brightly and opened up a 12-0 lead after Pieterse and Anderson crossed for the game’s first five points.

Pieterse opened the scoring after making the most of the holes in the Wolves defence. After receiving the ball deep in the opposition half, he raced up clear to touch down on the right. Anderson added the conversion before scoring the game’s second try.
The flyhalf received a long pass from scrumhalf Zane Labuschagne. He put boot to ball and then outran the Wolves backline, who were slow to react, to touch-down on the right.
The Wolves were in a state of disarray as the first half wound on and Pieterse added his second of the match when he pounced on the ball in the middle, utilizing the acres of space in the visitors’ defence to add his team’s third touchdown.

Potgieter ran in the game’s fourth before Anderson added the extra points as the home side led the contest 26-0 at half-time.
It was more of the same in the second half as the hosts continued their dominance. The Storm dominated the scrum and fought relentlessly in the breakdown.
Raven added his name to the scoresheet when he bulldozed the Wolves defence to increase their lead to 31-0 early in the second stanza.

Anderson grabbed his brace before Pieterse powered through for his third. The centre raced clear up the left, leaving a trail of jerseys in his slipstreams. Anderson added the extras to stretch their lead to 43-0.
Meyer completed the rout with his team’s eighth try late on as the hosts won the match 48-0.
