Greater Benoni Child Welfare will host family fun day to celebrate 100 years

The organisation will also host the Kids for Kids Market Day aimed at educating and empowering young minds.

Popular Benoni organisation, the Greater Benoni Child Welfare (GBCW) is turning 100 this year.

To celebrate this special milestone, GBCW will be organising a series of birthday inspired events. Community members are urged to show their support.

The organisation will host a Family Fun Day on September 24 (Heritage Day) from 9:00 to 15:00 at the Hoerskool Brandwag rugby fields. Admission to this fun-filled day is R50 per adult and R10 per child.

Attendees can look forward to an incredible performance by members of Benoni High School Pipe Band and other artists.

Bikes, vintage and classic vehicles will be on display and Isuzu will exhibit their vehicles. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and greet members of Biker Hart Radio, a digital radio station.

While mom and dad are enjoying the car exhibition, children will be busy at the play area, participating in colouring competitions and playing on the jumping castle and slides. Lego prizes are up for grabs.

Food and drinks will be on sale and raffle tickets ranging from R200 for a stay at the Sabie River Sun Resort will be on sale.

The organisation will also host the Kids for Kids Market Day aimed at educating and empowering them about income generating projects. Children from the age of eight to 16 years can apply to have their stalls. Store rental will be R50

Young entrepreneurs who raise the most funds can donate their income to the charity and will win a prize, however, it’s not compulsory.

To exhibit any of your products or request applications for the stall contact the Benoni Child Welfare on 011 849 5241.
