Outreach programme assists Farrarmere Gardens residents

Representatives from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), the Department of Labour and many more attended the event.

Residents of Farrarmere Gardens recently benefited from a community outreach programme aimed at providing easier access to essential services.

The initiative was spearheaded by community development worker Thandi Gidana in collaboration with Ward 28 Clr Mary Goby.

Representatives from the Sassa, the Department of Labour, Dischem, the Department of Health (Northmead Clinic) and members of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature attended the outreach to share knowledge on how residents can access their services.

Addressing attendees is Ward 28 Clr Mary Goby with Thandi Gidana and another community worker.

They also provided on-site assistance to those in need.

According to Gidana, she decided to host the outreach after observing that some residents struggle to visit the offices of various government departments due to the high cost of transport.

“This effort seeks to alleviate these difficulties by bringing services closer to the community,” said Gidana.
