Kids enjoy a sizzling dining experience

“Giving back is deeply entrenched in the way we do business.”

Scanning over their menus, 85 children from A Way Out in Fairleads excitedly made their lunch selection at Pedros Northmead before engaging in an array of activities, set out especially in their honour.

The youngsters, who are registered beneficiaries of the local NPO, spent October 12 indulging their appetites at the popular chicken outlet, tapping their feet to trendy tunes and bouncing with delight on the jumping castle.

Looking over at the smiling group of children, Mohammed Patel, owner of the franchise, said it is a privilege to host the children.

“We have been fortunate enough to get to know Toni and André Kruger, founders of A Way Out, and to give back, invited the youths to share a day with us,” he said.

Feeling the love. Seen here are servers Nombuso Shange (left) and Lizzy Choumbalinga with Luhanda Sibiya (12).

“We believe it is important to make a difference in the lives of others in any way possible.”

With the aroma of freshly prepared meals filling the air, Toni smiles at the sound of children’s laughter.

“This is an incredible spoil for these kids and we are extremely grateful to all who made it possible,” she said.

“It is heart-warming when local business not only open their hearts to our organisation but also acknowledge the work we do.”

She took the time to thank Team Hope SA, the RySky Foundation, Homestead Helpers for Benoni as well as DJ Kruiwa and Bubbles from Jitterbug Jukebox, for making the day a resounding success.
