NPO needs help to make festive cheer

Donations are needed to help the charity host a cheerful festive celebration.

With pencils in hands, more than 170 A Way Out young beneficiaries jotted down their Christmas lists, hoping their wishes come true.

For the past five years, the Fairleads-based NPO has extended a helping hand to needy families and hopes to make the upcoming festive season memorable for its children and their families.

On November 30, André and Toni Kruger, the organisation’s founders, hope to share cheer with those they serve but appeal for community support.

“We want the day to be memorable. These families and children have endured immense hardships throughout the year. We want to use this opportunity to spread joy and, most importantly, make it a day when they can forget about their troubles,” said Toni.

Gift lists were gathered from the 77 boys and 89 girls and are available to individuals willing to make the children’s dreams come true.

“Other than gifts, we also need a venue to host 300 people, a cooked meal, table snacks, refreshments, sweet packs, sanitary pads and deodorants,” she said.

“Helping hands from eager volunteers are also welcome.”
