FOLLOW-UP: Court postpones Pheiffer’s trial
The complainant has to wait another five months to face her alleged attacker.
The court postponed Christian (Mike) Pheiffer’s trial to April.
He is charged with the attempted murder of his then-wife by attacking her with an axe at their Farrarmere home on September 23, 2021.
Three days were set aside in the Benoni Regional Court for the trial set to start before Magistrate Ian Cox announced the postponement, on Thursday (November 14).
While congregating outside the courtroom, prosecutor Swart told the witnesses and the complainant that the recording system was non-operational because of technical issues.
Because no alternative court was available, the State had no choice but to postpone the matter.
The court again extended Pheiffer’s bail conditions.
