Join hospice’s training programme

This initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to uplifting the community by training individuals to provide vital care.

The Hospice East Rand calls on aspiring home-based personal care workers to enrol for its 2025 comprehensive 12-month full-time training programme.

This course equips participants with essential skills and practical knowledge to provide compassionate care to those with life-limiting illnesses.

Course offerings:
The course combines theory-based learning, practical training and workplace experience, ensuring a well-rounded approach to caregiving.

Participants will complete a full qualification in home-based personal care work (NQF Level 3, SAQA ID 104792), accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations.

The modules cover, among others, daily care, medication management, emotional support and nutrition, preparing graduates to deliver professional and empathetic care in various home-based settings.

Who can apply?
The programme is open to individuals who meet these requirements:

• A Grade 12 certificate with English and Maths (Core or Literacy).

• A commitment to completing the 12-month course.

Course details:
The course will run from March 3, 2025, to March 31, 2025, and cost R26 000, which includes a 50% deposit on acceptance and 10 monthly instalments of R1 300.

Space is limited to 15 to 20 participants.

The deadline for applications is January 31, 2025.
