The suspects will be appearing in local Magistrates Courts across Gauteng.

Possession of drugs
Members of the EMPD arrested four people on charges of possession of drugs with intention to sell, in Daveyton, on November 13.

• A 25-year-old man was arrested in Magwaza Street. He was found in possession of cocaine.

• Two women aged 21 and 28, were arrested in Daveyton Hostel after they were found in possession of Mandrax tablets.

• A 54-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of Mandrax tablets in Rasingane Street.

Drugs worth an estimated street value of R16 650 were confiscated.

• Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested a 43-year-old suspect at the corner of Wenden and High roads, Brakpan, after meth was found in his possession.

Counterfeit goods
Two men were arrested on November 14, at the N12 Springs off-ramp, by BFS members, after it was found that they were transporting seven bags of counterfeit name-brand shoes.

Goods to the estimated street value of R100 000 were seized.

Attempted break-in
Patrolling BFS members were stopped by a security officer stationed at a squash centre, in Commissioner Street, Kempton Park.

The security officer pointed out a 28-year-old suspect who allegedly broke several windows at the facility in an attempt to gain access to the building.

The suspect was arrested.

Rapid Response Services (RRS)
Units that fall under the RRS banner, including Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol, arrested 94 suspects, across Gauteng, from November 8 to 14.

Concentrated operations led to the arrest of 50 suspects on charges of assault with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, murder, pointing of a firearm, attempted murder, malicious property damage, driving under the influence of alcohol, contravention of a court order, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of counterfeit goods, contravention of the immigration act as well as domestic violence.

Thirty-nine hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered followed by 10 accompanying arrests.

A man was also arrested after an unlicensed firearm was found in his possession.

Further policing led to the arrest of 33 suspects for possession of drugs with the intent to sell.

Heroin, dagga, cocaine, Mandrax and meth were confiscated.
