Karters race into action for Toy Run
Formula K members grab pole position for toy collection.
An array of cuddly teddies and other toys were the centre of attraction at the Formula K track in Morehill on November 23 as karting enthusiasts shifted gears in support of the 42nd annual Johannesburg Toy Run.
Showing their support for this year’s run, which saw the cancellation of the customary mass ride to Benoni Northerns Sports Club, Benonians, as well as members of the biking community, were invited to arrange rides to the high octane facility to drop off their donations, enjoy a refreshment and watch the drivers take to the track.
Preparing to clock qualifier times, Tillitson 4 series drivers Keenan du Plessis (12) and Dante le Roux (9) sprinted from the pits to drop off their donations.
“I get to live my dream on the track every weekend,” said Keenan.

“I hope that my donation will make another child’s dreams come true.”
Dante said he hopes that every child will be blessed with at least one Christmas present, love and care.
Collections for this year’s Toy Run are now closed.
More than 300 volunteers will now sort and bag all the donations to be distributed to identified children’s homes by the various Round Table, Lions and Rotary clubs.
