Glynnwood welcomes two New Year’s babies

The two couples welcomed the newest members of their family, merely an hour apart.

The world gathered with great excitement to bid farewell to 2024 and to celebrate the arrival of the new year.

However, in the tranquillity of Life The Glynnwood Hospital’s maternity ward, two families waited in anticipation to welcome their bundles of joy.

At 07:42 on New Year’s day, Darren and Candice Parker, of Kempton Park, met the second addition to their family, Caleb.

Arriving at 38 weeks and weighing a healthy 3.45kg the little lad left his parents scrambling on the eve of 2025.

“We were at an indoor trampoline park with our four-year-old daughter, when Candice went into labour,” said the proud father.

“We were thankfully packed and were able to quickly make our way to the hospital.”

Holding her new born to her chest, Candice said she is overjoyed to finally have her son In her arms and cannot wait to introduce him to his big sister.

Keana, Lincoln and London Faith Elora Lewis, of Boksburg.

Twirling a lock of her ‘rainbow’ baby’s hair between her fingers, Keana Lewis of Boksburg, was overcome with emotion.

“In 2020, I suffered a miscarriage but today, Lincoln and I were blessed with our beautiful London Faith Elora,” she said happily.

“She was born at 08:54 weighing 3.7kg.”

Despite making her appearance two weeks early, dad Lincoln said he is grateful that his little butterfly and her doting mommy are both happy and healthy.

These are just some of the New Year’s babies born in Benoni, with more expected to make their arrival.
