Three suspected stray dogs briefly brought traffic on the N12 to a standstill just after 09:00 yesterday (January 9).
According to Frederick Koen, of NoJack Vehicle Tracking, key stakeholders, including the Benoni SPCA, Black Hawk Security, Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection, Dot Towing, AfriForum Benoni and Benoni CPF patrollers, made their way to the Tom Jones east-bound off-ramp.
This is after receiving a call from a concerned motorist, claiming that the terrified trio were at the barriers next to the fast lane.

The highway was closed until 10:00 in an effort to rescue the pups.
“One suffered minor injuries, while another was found unharmed near the Atlas Road on-ramp. The third evaded capture.”
Efforts will continue to track the remaining canine.

The animals have been taken to the Benoni SPCA where they will be receiving medical care and housed.
The SPCA urge anyone who may have lost a pet to visit the society to personally identify and claim their pets.
