News from the TAG kennels

Oh, to be in love and covered in wet-nosed kisses.

Swipe right and find your pawsome Valentine at The Animal Guardians (TAG).

Spoil your pups
It is the month of love and just because chocolates are not their thing, you can still show your pooch that you care by baking them a batch of healthy liver brownies.

You need:
• 500g raw liver
• 1/3 cup raw grated or cooked mashed veggies
• 1 egg
• 2 ½ cups of flour
• 1 teaspoon of herbs

Get cooking:
Put the liver, veggies and egg in a food processor and mix until smooth.

Add the flour and herbs and mix until thoroughly combined. The mixture must be thick but not solid; add liquid if necessary.

Bake in the oven at 180°C for 30 minutes.

Leave to cool, cut it into squares and serve to your best friend.

She might be a crossbreed, but Krummel won’t send mixed signals. This loyal lady has affection by bucket loads just looking to share it with her match-made-in-heaven human.

Don’t forget the shelter pups
While shopping for heart-shaped chocolates, why not add dry or wet dog and cat food to your basket?

TAG is always happy to receive food and treat donations to ensure their furry residents are well-fed.

Like his handler, Flynn is one of TAG’s most eligible bachelors ready to proclaim his undying love. This Labrador cross loves going on adventures and promises time spent with him will never be Netflix and chill.

Entry is R60 per human, and leashed pets run for free.
