Karateka grade up
“These karateka trained hard and attended regular classes."
The New World Shotokan (NWS) karate held its first grading of the year at the Rynfield dojo last month.
Mogale Masha, part of the juniors’ class, graded to yellow belt while in the senior’s class, Kyle Drescher received a yellow belt. Wessel Ferreira received his second kyu brown belt and Llewelyn Ferreira graded to yellow.
Liam Preston and Kaeleb Staley graded to their third kyu brown belts while Danica Ferreira received a yellow belt.
“These karatekas trained hard and attended regular classes. Karate is continuous training and our chief instructor sensei John always says, “If you miss one class, you are missing a brick in your wall,” said sensei Janien Potgieter.
