#BNACMarathon: Litter Bugs helpers did a sterling job!

Learners from Farrarmere Primary were assigned to the BCT and Meat World water station.

The Benoni City Times and Meat World water station at the Benoni Northerns Athletic Club Marathon on April 13 was a hive of activity … and laden with delicious refreshments and snacks for the runners.

Our water station was in Brodigan Street and the halfway mark for the ultra marathon runners.

We thank our little helpers from Farrarmere Primary, who did a great job in keeping the street and sidewalks litter-free and the runners motivated and hydrated.

The learners were part of the ‘BNAC Green Team’ of about 140 volunteers organised by Litter Bugs.

Armed with gloves, rakes, buckets and a positive attitude, the volunteers were spread out across the marathon route to pick up and sort litter for recycling while encouraging runners to ‘run clean’.

Well done to all involved in ensuring Benoni Northerns Sports Club and the streets of Benoni used for the marathon were left as pristine as they were when the sun rose that morning.
