LifeLine seeks social workers
The organisation is looking to employ two vibrant and dedicated social workers.
LifeLine Ekurhuleni is looking for two qualified social workers to join its team.
As a community-based organisation, LifeLine’s core focus is on providing counselling and victim empowerment services.
Successful applicants will be based at the organisation’s Benoni offices at 3 Russel Street, Western Extension, and will assist in preparing vulnerable victims of crime – including children and individuals with mental disabilities – to deliver their testimonies in court, thereby helping to prevent secondary trauma.
Minimum requirements:
• A four-year bachelor’s or honours degree in social work
• Registered with the SACSSP
• Minimum three years’ experience working with children
• Valid Code 8 or 10 driver’s licence
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Detail-orientated with strong organisational skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours
Duties include:
• Providing professional services and psychosocial support
• Effective administration and record-keeping
• Networking, advocacy and stakeholder engagement
• Ongoing training and development in the social work field
• Conducting awareness campaigns, home visits, intermediary and liaison services
