Kit Kat Benoni warms hearts on Mandela Day

Together with Merchants of Light NPO, Virgin Active Bedfordview and Toyota Knights, they distributed 150 grocery hampers and also served a loaf of bread and soup, as well as bags of oranges, clothing and blankets, to 250 people.

Kit Kat Cash and Carry Benoni joined forces with Merchants of Light NPO, Virgin Active Bedfordview and Toyota Knights to share their Mandela Day giving back to the community of Primrose, in Germiston.

In line with the Mandela Day theme, “It’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity”, they distributed 150 grocery hampers – each parcel caters for a family of four – and they also served bread and soup, and gave bags of oranges, clothing and blankets, to 250 people.

“Merchants of Light believe that small acts of kindness – a simple bowl of food, a warm blanket or a gesture of love – can create bonds within a community and ultimately in our nation. Thank you to the teams from the Virgin Active Bedfordview and Kit Kat Cash and Carry who supported this initiative.”

The NPO fed 2 410 people and distributed 400 grocery hampers with Kit Kat during the Mandela Day week.
