Local firms donate sportswear, equipment to school
The companies donated sportswear, water bottles and backpacks.
Laerskool Brentwood Park’s hockey and rugby stars beamed with pride when they put on their new kits on August 7.
The donation from local companies Manny’s Hardware and Community Monitoring Services (CMS) ignited excitement and team spirit on and off the field.
Among other things, the companies helped the school’s U9 rugby team and U10 A and B girls’ hockey teams with warm-up jerseys, tracksuits, water bottles, hockey socks and a complete goalkeeper kit.
Principal Johan le Roux thanked Manny’s and CMS owner Manny Ferreirinho for his continued support in the growth of the community.
“Such sponsorships are of priceless value,” Le Roux said.

“Sponsorships like that of Manny Ferreirinho are of vital importance to the sustainability of any school. They not only support our motto – Every child’s smile counts – but enable us to equip our coaches to prepare the learners for a challenging future.”
CMS senior manager Willem Lucas said it made them proud to see the learners in their new kit.
“We approach many local schools to empower them. CMS has been in Benoni for years. It’s always good to give back to our community and schools. Hopefully, we’ve helped cheer up the rugby and hockey players.”
Paul dos Ramos, the Manny’s Hardware manager, added, “Manny’s has been around for 40 years. We are a footprint in this town. It’s our obligation to give back, not just to the primary schools but to high schools as well. We are also growing the sport because it’s what brings communities together.”
