EAC’s Dlamini claims gold at CGA champs
“I look forward to representing the CGA at the nationals,” Dlamini said.
Katlego Dlamini expressed pride after delivering a gold-medal performance at the CGA Cross Country Championships at the Germiston City Soccer Club on August 16.
The East Athletic Club (EAC) youngster clinched the boys’ U8 1km race with a gun-to-tape dominant display for his first provincial title.

In what was billed as the most anticipated race, the Daveyton resident beat a field that included some top sub-youth talent like Benoni Northerns’ Oithekgile Tjege, Lenhle Raadt of Boxer and Nedbank’s Kgothatso Phalane.
Raadt finished second to grab silver, while Phalane grabbed the last podium spot.
Speaking to the Benoni City Times with his medal around his neck after the presentation, an elated Dlamini thanked his coach, Isaac Ndlovu, and his teammates for their support.

“I’m so happy. The race went according to how my coach and I planned. This is proof that hard work pays off. Thank you to coach Isaac and my teammates for always encouraging me to push. I look forward to representing the CGA at the nationals,” Dlamini said.
