Kidnapped Etwatwa businessman found dead

Police initially opened a case of kidnapping and extortion following his disappearance.

The Etwatwa SAPS is appealing to the public for assistance after a 44-year-old businessman, who was kidnapped in June, was later found dead.

According to Ekurhuleni district communication officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the man was abducted in Etwatwa on June 20.

Nearly two months later, on August 18, his body was discovered in Thembisa.

Police initially opened a case of kidnapping and extortion following his disappearance. The case has since been changed to murder.

“To assist with the investigation, anyone who might have information can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or report anonymously through the MySAPS app,” said Sekgobela.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
