Stock up on your Diwali essentials
Visitors are spoilt for choice with vendors have a wide array of products on sale.
The smell of incense wafts through the Seva Samaj Hall in Actonville, beckoning those faithful to the Hindu culture to the India Diwali Fair.
Running from August 22 to September 7, the fair serves as a meeting ground for devotees and exclusive suppliers of exquisite attire, shimmering trinkets, and traditional health remedies.

Having travelled from as far afield as KwaZulu-Natal, vendors are offering visitors the opportunity to stock up on all the essentials to celebrate Diwali (the Festival of Light), which will be observed from October 18 to 20.
“During the celebration we pay our respects to our Hindu gods and thank them for the blessings they bestow upon us,” said Babar Hihsi.

“The festival is characterised by bright and elaborate outfits, prayer rituals, the exchange of gifts, and finally, bestowing wishes of goodwill and prosperity upon our families, friends, and community.”
Hihsi invited members of the community to the fair to enjoy exclusive offers. Entry into the fair is free and it is open from 10:00 to 20:00 daily.
