John Wesley Community Centre (JWCC) donates sanitary pads to local schools

JWCC manager Puma Mbambo said the donation will serve as an emergency resource for learners who may need assistance during school hours.

To help ensure that girls do not miss school due to a lack of menstrual products, the John Wesley Community Centre (JWCC) in Etwatwa has donated sanitary pads to two local schools.

B.B. Myataza Secondary and W.J. Mpengesi Primary School were the beneficiaries of the initiative, which aims to promote dignity and confidence among learners by ensuring that no child experiences discomfort or embarrassment because of limited access to sanitary products.

JWCC manager Puma Mbambo said the donation will serve as an emergency resource for learners who may need assistance during school hours.

“This initiative was more than just a donation, it was a message of dignity, support and empowerment for young learners,” said Mbambo.

As part of the outreach, the centre also launched a bold awareness campaign against bullying, distributing posters to learners carrying the message “NO to Bullying.”

Mbambo explained that the campaign seeks to reinforce respect and inclusivity at schools.

“These posters serve as a visual reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, respected and valued in their learning environment. We wanted to empower young minds to speak up, support one another and grow in confidence,” he said.
