Three EMPD officers injured after taxi crashes into wall in Daveyton

According to EMPD communications officer Joy Mdluli, a white minibus travelling south along Eiselen Street lost control and collided with a wall at the Hurutse Street intersection.

Three EMPD officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries on October 9 after a minibus taxi crashed into a wall while they were at an internet café at the corner of Eiselen and Hurutse streets in Daveyton.

According to EMPD communications officer Joy Mdluli, a white minibus travelling south along Eiselen Street lost control and collided with a wall at the Hurutse Street intersection, where three EMPD officers, two men and a woman, were on the property of the business.

“It is alleged that the officers were making photocopies at the time of the incident,” said Mdluli.

The taxi driver, who was the only occupant, also sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
