The U6, U8 and U9 sides were crowned league champions in their streams.
The Sporting Club Benoni Independiente (SCBI) enjoyed a successful Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) season with three of its junior teams crowned league champions in their respective streams.
The club’s U6 side clinched the league two title after a dominant season, while the U8s won league three after beating Birch Acres in a nailbiter in the final match of the season. The U9 team were declared the league one champs after showing consistency throughout their season.
“We are incredibly proud of our boys for winning the league in not just one but three divisions this season. Their dedication, teamwork, and passion for the game have truly paid off.

“Each player, coach and parent played a vital role in this achievement, and it’s a reflection of the unity and spirit within our club. This success inspires us to keep growing, developing young talent and striving for excellence both on and off the field,” said vice-chairperson Debbie Pillay.
“With determination, teamwork, and discipline beyond their years, the boys put on an incredible season, showing both consistency and courage in every match.”
The U7s were fourth in their league, while the U10 side finished second.
“Week after week, they played with passion, proudly representing SCBI’s values of More Spirit, More Courage,” said SCBI’s marketing head, Ebrahim Lambat.
Lambat thanked their sponsors, among others, Dawoods Frozen Foods, Zido Cars and Naickers Fruit and Veg, and parents for their unwavering support throughout the season.
