Cupcake Angels bring sweet hope to kids with cancer
Volunteers, schools and businesses joined forces to support children battling cancer in South Africa.
The spirit of giving was alive and well at East Rand Mall on September 27.
Cupcakes of Hope hosted its annual National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer fundraiser at the centre. The event formed part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and again drew massive support from the Boksburg community.
This year’s goal was to raise at least R90 000, inspired by last year’s record-breaking R84 000, which saw the East Rand Mall named the top-selling mall in SA, with over 13 000 cupcakes donated and sold.
Dozens of volunteers, affectionately known as ‘Cupcake Angels’, schools, businesses, churches and individuals baked, donated and sold cupcakes to support young cancer patients and their families across SA.
