Look carefully. Zoom a little closer. Among the festively decorated boxes is Rhoda Toker of Benoni van Ryn Rotary Anns. With the help of friends, family and clients, the real estate agent delivered 413 lovingly packed gifts to the Santa Shoebox Project’s Johannesburg depot on October 30. Since its establishment in 2006, Santa Shoebox has delivered over 1.3 million gifts to underprivileged children across the country and built seven fully equipped Early Childhood Development centres. Jani went from working as a student intern for the Boksburg Advertiser to being employed as a junior journalist in 2004. Taking time out to start a family, she returned to the Caxton family in 2022 as senior journalist for the Benoni City Times. Her passion is telling her community's stories.
