Organisation hosts Christmas lunch for grannies
The grannies received gifts and engaged in empowering conversations.
The Boitumelo Home-Based Care ended the year on a heartfelt note, hosting a special Christmas lunch on December 10, to honour its grannies for their resilience, wisdom, and contribution throughout 2025.
The gathering was more than a celebration, as the senior citizens shared meals, received gifts, and engaged in empowering conversations that reaffirmed their value and dignity.
“This was to acknowledge and thank the grannies for such a wonderful collaboration for the year. We shared meals and gifts and had fun. We had wonderful conversations about the word of God. We had sessions of empowerment for each other and many other moments of joy,” said founder Phindile Mtshali.
While the organisation looks to extend its support this year, it has issued an appeal for much-needed funding to continue uplifting the elderly in Etwatwa.
“To keep our grannies happy this year, we hope for more donations to keep providing for them,” Mtshali said.
