Alexander finishes tied second Down Under
She carded with rounds of 68, 68, 65 and 71 to finish on 12-under.
Local golfer Casandra Alexander delivered a standout performance to secure a runner-up finish at the Australian WPGA Championship at Sanctuary Cove Golf Club.
The St Dunstan’s College alumna finished tied second alongside Germany’s Alexandra Försterling on 12-under-par, four shots behind champion Hannah Green.
Green produced a composed final round of two-under-par to close on 16-under, sealing a four-shot victory and successfully defending her title while also securing a historic third consecutive tournament win.

Alexander set the tone early with rounds of 68, 68 and a superb 65, heading into the final day locked in a gripping battle with Green. But a roller-coaster final round featuring a mix of birdies, three bogeys, an eagle and a costly double-bogey saw her lose momentum at a crucial stage.
As Alexander battled to stay within striking distance, Försterling surged into contention with a solid three-under-par 68, ultimately emerging as Green’s closest challenger.
Alexander, ranked 43rd in the world as of March 16, signed off with a level-par 71 to finish on 12-under 272, matching Försterling’s total to share second place.
This result underlines her growing presence on the international stage.
