Music quiz drums up thousands for SPCA

Beats became treats during this tail-wagging fundraiser.

Putting their music knowledge to the test, 120 participants tuned in to raise R45 000 for the Benoni SPCA.

Armed with pens, quiz sheets and a musical ear, supporters of the animal welfare society took their seats at Big G’s Quarterdeck in Western Extension on February 28 for the toe-tapping music quiz.

“Family is incredibly important to us, and as with many families, home is only home when there is a fur-child or three involved,” said Jared Daniel, owner of the establishment.

“We decided to host a fun and interactive fundraiser in aid of the SPCA not only to cement our commitment to the city’s fluffy residents, but also to make a lasting contribution to the society’s ongoing work.”

In her characteristic energetic style, Benoni SPCA chairperson Monique Quenet said she was blown away by the community’s support.

“More than 100 people showed up to participate, and they did not hold back with their donations,” she said.

“We would like to thank everyone who came out to support this amazing event, as well as Big G’s, DJ White Wolf and Darrel Stoltz for arranging a thrilling and thoroughly entertaining quiz.”
