Boyfriend arrested for alleged murder of girlfriend
Bloodstains were allegedly discovered in a bedroom.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his 28-year-old girlfriend after he reportedly brought her lifeless body to a clinic in Daveyton on June 15.
According to the SAPS Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole, the boyfriend arrived at the clinic at about 15:00 seeking medical attention for the woman.
However, medical personnel established that she had died several hours earlier and had sustained injuries to her upper body.
The Daveyton SAPS were called to the clinic and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
“Further investigations led officers to a residence in Mayfield Ext 6, Putfontein, where bloodstains were discovered in a bedroom,” said Sithole.
“Officers also reportedly found the deceased’s clothing soaking in a washing machine.”
The boyfriend and a man who allegedly assisted in transporting the deceased to the clinic were arrested and detained at Putfontein Police Station.
The two suspects are expected to appear in court on charges of murder.
Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending further investigations and notification of family members.
Sithole further said police investigations into the matter are continuing.
