Woman injured in freak tree stump incident in Farrarmere
The condition of the victim has not yet been established.
A woman was reportedly seriously injured in Wilge Road, Farrarmere, yesterday afternoon (July 29) when part of a tree stump fell on her.
According to information received from Nina Visser, of Homestead Helpers for Benoni, as well as CCTV footage seen by the Benoni City Times, the unidentified woman was walking on the side of the road when the stump collapsed and hit her.
The CCTV footage shows visitors to Homestead Dam rushing to the scene in an effort to assist.
Emergency personnel were deployed and the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Her condition is unknown.
Ward 28 councillor Mary Goby said that she is in the process of identifying the victim, relying on community WhatsApp groups for more information.
Benoni CPF Sector 2 chairman Clive Patterson also confirmed the incident but was unable to supply more information.
