From August 17 to 23, the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) made eight arrests.

Tracing operation

On August 17, a BFS officer launched a tracing operation in Esselen Park, Thembisa, searching for a 30-year-old man wanted in connection with a case of damage to property and domestic violence.

The suspect was successfully apprehended.

Assault and possession of drugs

In the early hours of August 18, officers were led to a property in Kanana Extension 4, Rabie Ridge, where a man claimed that he had been assaulted.

The victim pointed out the property where the alleged attacker lived.

A search of a room on the property led to the arrest of the 25-year-old suspect, with an additional charge of possession of drugs added when he was found in possession of 10 packets of meth.

A search of two other men found inside the room was conducted.

The men were also arrested when they were found in possession of a further eight packets of meth and 13 Mandrax pills.

Possession of drugs with the intent to sell

A 28-year-old man was arrested on August 19 when he was found in possession of five packets of meth.

The arrest was made in Ivory Park.

Vehicle recovery

A silver Renault Kwid was recovered in Ivory Park; it was reported as hijacked in the same area.
