From September 18 to 27 the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) and Police Emergency Services (PES) arrested 102 suspects:

Possession of drugs
Two suspects, aged 36 and 42, were arrested for drug-related offences in Kempton Park. Meth and cocaine were recovered.

Cable theft
During routine stop-and-search operations along the N12 on September 23, officers arrested the 35- and 38-year-old occupants of a white Hyundai panel van, which was found transporting bags containing copper cabling. The occupants could not provide a reasonable reason for possessing the items, estimated at R80 000.

Domestic violence
A 41-year-old man was arrested in Thembisa on September 23 on charges of domestic violence.

Vehicle recovery
• A silver Volkswagen Tiguan was found in Springs. It was reported as hijacked in Benoni.
• A white UD truck and two trailers were recovered in Springs Road, Crystal Park. These were reported as hijacked in Brakpan.
• A white Toyota Hilux was found abandoned on the N12, Etwatwa. It was reported as hijacked in Limpopo

Police Emergency Services (PES)

From September 18 to 24, the Police Emergency Services (PES), including the Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol, arrested 97 suspects across Gauteng.

The operation resulted in:
• 49 arrests for serious crimes, including assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of suspected stolen property, driving under the influence of alcohol, bribery, hijacking, rape, malicious damage to property, theft, possession of unlicensed ammunition, drinking in public and contravention of the Immigration Act.

• Recovery of 28 hijacked and stolen vehicles. Five arrests were made on charges of possessing these vehicles.

• 17 suspects were arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms, and 17 weapons were seized
• 26 suspects were arrested for possession of drugs with the intent to sell. Drugs recovered included heroin, dagga, meth, cocaine and Mandrax.
