EnviroServ celebrates Arbour Week at Etwatwa Pre-school

The school received a donation of vegetables and snack packs for the children

The first week of September marks National Arbor Week, an initiative created to raise awareness about the significance of trees.

In commemoration of Arbor Week, a team from EnviroServ Waste Management Pty Ltd, armed with spades and rakes, planted two trees at Lollipop Day Care Centre in Etwatwa, on September 7.

The school also received a donation of vegetables and snack packs for the children.

Holding some of the items donated by EnviroServ Waste Management are representatives from the company as well as learners and teachers of Lollipop Day Care Centre.

EnviroServ Waste Management Pty Ltd which owns waste treatment and disposal facilities, including the Holfontein Waste Management Facility based near Etwatwa, chose Lollipop Day Care Centre and BB Myataza Secondary School as its beneficiaries.

According to Daniel Kopayi, the event aimed to encourage the school to plant trees while emphasising the importance of keeping the environment clean.

During the event, the founder of the Etwatwa Greening Team, Vusi Matladi, highlighted the benefits of protecting and planting trees for sustainable environmental management.
