Okae Molao yields positive results in two-day operation

Operation Okae Molao saw many people being arrested for a range of crimes.

Ten traffic fines to the value of R5600 were issued to motorists in the Actonville policing precinct during Operation Okae Molao on October 27.

According to the Ekurhuleni District communication officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the operation comprised of police officers and other law enforcement agencies.

“Six suspects were arrested for possession of drugs. One of the six suspects was found with a cable and tower batteries.

“Nine illegal shebeens were closed down and a Toyota Stallion was impounded. Eight second-hand goods dealers were charged with non-compliance and three illegal immigrants were arrested,” said Sekgobela.

Sekgobela said a further 201 people were arrested for contact crimes, GBV-related issues and property-related crimes

“Members of Social Crime Prevention also engaged with the community in Actonville and distributed pamphlets with crime safety tips. They were urged to report criminal activities that are taking place in their areas,” said Sekgobela.
