Kuzimisela Primary School wins Fatti’s and Moni’s competition

Kuzimisela Primary School learners and teachers were buzzing with excitement during the reveal of its new library.

Kuzimisela Primary School in Daveyton has emerged victorious after winning the Fatti’s and Moni’s Collect-A-Pack competition. They won a library upgrade.

The school formed part of the 130 schools recruited between April and May this year. They competed against 69 other Gauteng schools and managed to collect the most Fatti’s and Moni’s packs, tallying 3 000 packs.

To congratulate the school, local celebrities Lasizwe and Thembi Seete (Fatti’s and Moni’s brand ambassadors) visited the school on November 29 for the handover event.

During the event, learners showcased their talents through dance, music and poetry.

Kuzimisela Primary School principal, Nicholas Yende was over the moon after cutting the ribbon outside the new renovated library centre at the school.

Creative and artistic learners who used empty Fatti’s and Moni’s packets to make art pieces were honoured for their work. They received Fatti’s and Moni’s hampers and vouchers.

Fatti’s and Moni’s brand manager, Phumele Bohlela congratulated the school.

“As the top performing school in Gauteng, we are proud of you for collecting the most Fatti’s and Moni’s packs. Your efforts have proved that you care about your school and environment. As a brand we want to show you that we care about the community,” said Bohlela.

The Collect-A-Pack campaign is an initiative that encourages learners to recycle. It is aimed at schools across South Africa and Botswana. The objective of the campaign is to encourage learners in primary and secondary schools to collect as many empty Fatti’s and Moni’s packs as they can, to win prizes for themselves and their schools.

Schools had previously received cash incentives for their efforts. However, this year, Fatti’s and Moni’s introduced library upgrades where the top-performing schools would receive their share of the prizes.
