Sequeira victorious at Reading

She carded 40 points for the victory.

Lyn Sequeira produced an impressive round to clinch this month’s Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) competition at Reading Country Club in Alberton on August 19.

Sequeira beat a strong field to claim the honours with 40 points, finishing three points clear of runner-up Lezette Vermaak, who carded 37 points.

Sonja Louw finished third on 37 points, while Linda Joubert also scored 37 points to secure fourth place. Ria Joubert rounded out the top five with 36 points.

Other results:

Rene Matthee claimed the nearest-the-pin prize on the fifth hole, while Colleen Francis took the honours on the 15th.

Toula Arnold and Lynette Powell were the lucky raffle winners.

The ESWG president Charmaine Stone thanked the Reading ladies’ section for hosting a successful event and praised the players for their performances.

“Well done, ladies, excellent results. Thank you to Reading Pro Shop for their assistance today and to the ladies’ section for the lovely raffle,” she said.
