Brave enough to be rare

Four learners from the school have been diagnosed with one of 7 000 categorised diseases.

Learners also donated ‘brave boxes’ to the cause which will be distributed to children currently undergoing treatment in hospital.

Living with a rare disease may be a heavy burden to bear, but for Somai Venter (11) from Farrarmere, her diagnosis of Ectodermal Dysplasia has not put a dampener on this tween’s zest for life. Somai and her mom, Madelein, celebrated the day, by raising awareness for people, living rare diseases.
