Increased rainfall and sporadic flooding at the Delmas Animal Shelter have resulted in stockpiles of food and blankets getting wet and spoiling.
Responding to an urgent appeal posted on various social media platforms, Intro Real Estate, with the support of SUPERSPAR Atlas Mall, SUPERSPAR The Falls, and the community, a successful food and blanket drive was held on February 25.
Placing donation trolleys at the two retail outlets, the agency was able to collect 630kg of food and 35 blankets for the shelter.
Jolandie Verwey, one of the founding members of the organisation, was overjoyed by the generous donation.
“Thank you to all the kind angels that came to our rescue in our time of need,” she said.
“We invite members of the community to visit us or even adopt one of our furry friends.”
