Two men were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen goods and a motor vehicle on February 23.
According to EMPD media liaison officer Lerato Monyane, while members of the EMPD Bronberg Precinct were conducting their duties, they were approached by an Ethiopian who claimed he was robbed at gunpoint by three men.
“He said his vehicle, containing stock for his shop, was hijacked at his business on the corner of Nabe ya Lewatle and Letsa streets in Zenzele, Mayfield.
“The victim described the vehicle the suspects fled in, and officers followed up on the information,” Monyane said.

“Officers spotted a vehicle, a silver Toyota Hilux VVT1, matching the description in a veld in Daveyton.”
When they approached the vehicle, the suspects fled the scene, but one was arrested.
The hijacked vehicle and the stock, worth an estimated R13 000, were recovered.
“The man who was arrested led officers to another suspect in Sihoko Street. He was also arrested, and both were detained at the Putfontein Police Station.
“A third suspect is still at large. However, an arrest is imminent,” said Monyane.
