POWER UPDATE: Technicians start switching-on process
Technicians remain on site to ensure no further faults occur.
All transformers have been energised and members of the Ekurhuleni metro’s energy department are in the process of restoring power to the last remaining areas affected by the large scale outage.
According to information received, the switching on process will be done systematically to ensure that the load is stable.
“There is a possibility that some areas may experience power supply interruptions as technicians ensure that the feed is balanced,” said Ward 27 Clr Lornette Joseph.
“At this stage, is it difficult to predict which areas will be affected and when, but residents can rest assured that teams are monitoring the situation closely.”
To assist with speedy restoration of power, residents are urged to switch off and unplug large appliances, where possible.
