Cannabis bust at beauty salon
Officers of the task team responded to information that dagga was being sold at the business.
A 26-year-old business owner was arrested at his salon in Northmead on May 17.
According to Captain Nomsa Sekele, the spokesperson for the Benoni Police Station, members of the Ekurhuleni Trio task team received information of suspected drug dealing at the salon and coffee shop.
“A team was mobilised and swooped on the business at 10:00,” said Sekele.
“Following a preliminary search, officers found a sealed plastic bag containing individually rolled dagga cigarettes.
“They also found loose dagga and an undisclosed amount of money, which allegedly was gained through the sale of the substance.”
The suspect was arrested, and the dagga, with an estimated street value of R9 000, was seized.
