The AGS Farrarmere Church invites you to a golf day fundraiser on May 31 at the Benoni Lake Golf Club in Lakefield.

According to the organiser of the fundraiser Christa van Jaarsveld, all the proceeds will go to the completion of the church’s 2020 children’s church project, which began in 2019 but was not completed due to the pandemic.

“We are excited to host this event. God has put this on our hearts to make this project for the children’s sake.

“We started the project in late 2019 after we bought the house next to the church to renovate and change it into a children’s church, a worship room, classrooms and a counselling room for our young generation,” she said.

Van Jaarsveld mentioned that the rooms used by the church for youth services were too small and could not accommodate all age groups.

She said more room and space would allow them to attend to the needs of every child.

“All went so well when we started the project, but we had to stop the renovations because of Covid. When we resumed, our funds were little, and the contractors were expensive.

“The church members needed help from the brothers and sisters. We couldn’t get the funds together to finish the project. The funds from this golf day will help us finish the building, roof, plastering and windows,” Van Jaarsveld added.

Tee-off is at 11:00 at R1 600 per four-ball.

The prizes include a vehicle worth R1m for a hole-in-one on the 16th hole.
