Head to the Koppies for storytelling this Heritage Month

Storyteller Merle Grace will take visitors back in time with The Book Tree on September 14.

There is plenty to learn and enjoy at Melville Koppies this Heritage Month.

Book a guided tour to learn about the Koppies’ rich history; its ancient rocks and thousands of years of habitation or join storytelling on September 14.

Storyteller Merle Grace will take visitors back in time with The Book Tree (a funny and wildly magical tale about keeping books, free thought and kindness alive), and a San-bushmen story about where fire comes from.

Round off the month on September 28 with a 8km hike to experience fresh air, green shoots and good company or just pitch up on any Sunday morning (expect September 7 as the Koppies will be closed for a road race).

The Koppies are open on Sundays from 08:00 to 11:00.

Entry is R100 for adults, R50 under 18 and under five’s are free.

There is secure parking at Marks Park in Judith Road.

Go to www.mk.org.za, email wendavid@mweb.co.za or Whatsapp 079 532 0083 or 072 348 0578.

Note: Guided tours must be booked in advance.
