The community are further encouraged to donate pre-loved items to the organisation’s thrift shop.

Festive cheer is filling the air but for many this a season filled with despair.

The Salvation Army Benoni Goodwill Centre is appealing for support to assist those in need this holiday season.

“Our hope is to lend a helping hand to the many individuals and families living in our city,” said Captain Zandile Mkhize.

“We are appealing for donations of non-perishable foods as well as treats which are usually in short supply to those only focused on making ends meet.”

The community are further encouraged to donate pre-loved items to the organisation’s thrift shop.

“Proceeds from sales enable us to ensure the sustainability of our  ongoing outreach projects,” she said.

For more information about the centre or how you can assist call 011 422 441.
