Farrarmere is not your rubbish bin

Sonia Muller writes by email:

To all Benoni citizens.

Firstly – Main Road, Farrarmere, is not your rubbish bin – please stop throwing your rubbish out of the car on Main Road between North Rand Road and the Wimpy near Windermere Road.

We, who live along this road, try and pick up the rubbish as Ekurhuleni does not do its job.

But we see many cars and trucks stop and clean their cigarette holders in the car on this road.

They dump stompies and food containers and bottles and cans anywhere and everywhere.

We are now going to start taking photographs and sending it to the traffic department as you are littering.

So beware – we are watching you.

Secondly – where are the Ekurhuleni Parks Department staff? They are getting good pay and need to clean up our town – it looks disgusting.

Rubbish everywhere and no rubbish bins to be seen and those that are around are filled to overflowing and no-one is cleaning them out.

Please go and look at downtown Brakpan – it is so clean and beautiful it puts me to shame to think that is next door to Benoni.

Where is the Mayor – why don’t you drive to Brakpan and have a look around?
